Make our famous Bison Tongue Tacos!

Bison Tongue Tacos Recipe

Ingredients:

2 Heritage Bison Ranches Bison Tongues

1 large onion sliced

Garlic

Bay leaves

Peppercorns

Marjoram

Thyme

Oregano

All Spice

Salt

Pepper

Preparation:

Either boil for 1 1/2 hours in a large stock pot or on high in a crock pot for 6-8 hours on high, add the two bison tongues, enough water to completely cover the tongues and as much or as little as you would like of all the above spices.  

Remove tongues and peel off the outer skin of the tongues.  Slice thinly the remaining meat and place meat on a large baking sheet, and sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.

Broil on high on the top rack of your oven for a few minutes until the edges of the pieces of tongue are slightly browned and crispy.

Add the bison tongue meat to your favorite soft or hard shell tacos, and top with any or all of your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, salsa, tomatoes, lettuce, guacamole, and sour cream and serve.  

Absolutely delicious!  Made them for our harvest crew this fall and they were a big hit!
